Bertha Alice Marin
Bertha Alice Marin was born in Reedley, CA on May 3, 1927, She was called home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2013, at the age of 86. She was the daughter of Bernard and Justina Fast.
Bertha was a graduate of Dinuba High School class of 1946. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Reedley and attended the Dinuba Presbyterian Church. She married her high school sweetheart, Eugene, on August 31, 1948.
After high school, Bertha held a variety of interests. She worked for a photographer in Fresno. She also worked for JC Penny's, was a preschool teacher, and worked at Surabian Packing, Inc. She was also a business owner. While these are just some of her past vocations, her true calling was being a mother to her three children, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Bertha and Eugene enjoyed their retirement years together. They liked to travel to the coast and spend time with their children and grandchildren. She was actively involved with the Dinuba Presbyterian Church by volunteering her time and talents with the Friendship Circle. She always put her needs second and overtly generous with her time helping others. She was a fantastic mom, teaching her kids the true meaning of life and friendships.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Eugene; and siblings Benny, Estella, Elmer, and Frances. Surviving family members include two sons and a daughter: Evan; David and his wife Mary; and Linda. She also has five grandchildren: Jenifer; Jason; Daniel; Laura; and Sarah; and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the Dr. Jeannine Laramie for her wonderful care and professionalism; Kaweah Delta Hospice; and Carmen Balderama for her loving attention and nursing care.
Graveside services will be held at Smith Mountain Cemetery, November 26, 2013 at 11:00 am. Reception will follow the graveside service at the Dinuba Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be given to the Memorial Fund at Dinuba Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held at Dopkins Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 25 from 2-7 p.m.

Dr. George A. Mark, 82, of Goshen and formerly of Elkhart, died at his home late Friday morning, May 10, 2013.
He was born October 27, 1930 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Albert H. Mark and Vivian Viel Mark.He grew up in Naubinway, Michigan.
He married Arlene Martin December 17, 1955 at Goshen College.
She survives along with four children, Susan (Dennis Landis) Mark Landis of Orrville, Ohio, Dr. David G. (Dr. Julie) Mark of Granger, Dr. Paul R. (Kim) Mark of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Scott J. (Summer) Mark of Muskego, Wisconsin; and grandchildren, Dr. Laura (Adam) Yoder, Joel (Mikaela) Landis, Eric, Nicole, Natalie and Nathaniel Mark, Anne, John and Brian Mark, and Hannah and Jacob Mark.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dr. Richard Mark.
George’s intellectual curiosity exceeded the availability of education in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, compelling him to travel. He attended high school in Harrisonburg, VA, college in Goshen, IN and medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. While at Eastern Mennonite High School in Virginia, he had the fortune to meet his future wife of 57 years, Arlene Martin. While she was not initially impressed, she ultimately succumbed to his relentless pursuit and they were wed in 1955.
After graduation from Northwestern Medical School, Dr. Mark interned at Denver (CO) General Hospital, and then moved to a Presbyterian mission hospital near Taos, New Mexico to begin his alternative service (1W). He completed his service at Westville (IN) State Hospital where he was the medical director for the criminally insane. Following his service he completed residency in internal medicine at Milwaukee (WI) General Hospital and began practice in Elkhart in January 1963.
For many years he served as medical director for Oaklawn Psychiatric Hospital. He also volunteered time as the physician for missionaries under Mennonite Board of Missions.
He raised his family in the woods along the St. Joseph River, where he sailed in his Sunfish. Although not particularly graceful, he played tennis and skied with great enthusiasm.
Traveling was his favorite hobby. He and his wife attended over 20 Elderhostels and took many cruises, including river boat trips in Europe. He enjoyed classical music and yearly Shakespeare trips to Stratford, Ontario.
He was a devoted member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church where he taught Sunday school, served as an elder and on the finance committee.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church, Goshen.
An 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, memorial service will be held at College Mennonite Church with Pastors Nelson Krabill and Anne Mitchell of Prairie Street Mennonite Church, Elkhart, officiating.
A family burial at Prairie Street Cemetery will precede the memorial service.

GOSHEN - Rudolph C. Martens, 87, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 19, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen Healthcare following an apparent stroke.
He was born March 24, 1926, in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada, to Cornelius and Elizabeth (Suderman) Martens.
On Dec. 28, 1951, he married Elvina N. Neufeld in Chicago. She died April 11, 2012.
Surviving are two sons, John (Danile) Martens of Mishawaka and Philip (Janet Leichty) Martens of Champaign, Ill.; a daughter, Elizabeth (Cleon) Claasen of Moses Lake, Wash.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and stepbrothers Waldemar Dirks of Petersburg, Ontario, and Otto Dirks of St. Catharines, Ontario.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years; and a sister, Wanda Martens.
Rudy graduated from Waterloo College, Ontario, Canada, with a bachelor's degree and received his theological training from Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Chicago. He later completed his master's degree in divinity at Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa, in 1975.
Rudy served as a pastor, teacher, translator and administrator for 18 years in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In addition to classroom Bible teaching, he spent many hours training Congolese student pastors in radio and watch repair, as well as in photography skills, to allow them to supplement their limited congregational resources. He used his enormous technical gifts to maintain hospital and mission equipment in nearly impossible conditions. He also served congregations in Michigan, Iowa, Illinois and Oklahoma.
He was a member of Silverwood Mennonite Church, Goshen.
In accordance with Rudy's wishes, his body will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, memorial service will be at Silverwood Mennonite Church, 1712 W. Clinton St., Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission (AIMM).

Born June 2, 1934 in Earl Township, Lancaster County, he was the son of Menno H. and Elizabeth Hoover Martin. He was a former farmer and later he had a door-to-door snack route. Adam was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference, Bethel, PA.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Norma and J. David Martin, Cato, NY; Carl and Linda Martin of Denver; Betty and Galen Nolt of Bethel; Adam, Jr. and Lois Martin of Bethel; Larry and Karen Martin of Lebanon; Tina and Lloyd Oberholtzer of Richland; Lamar and Carolyn Martin of Denver; Dawn and Keith Musser of Newmanstown; foster daughter, Deborah and Lester Martin of Newmanstown; 53 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; brothers, Noah H. Martin of New Holland; Allen H. SELINSGROVE - Annie M. Martin, 82, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at her home. Annie was born Feb. 23, 1930, in New Holland, Earl Township, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Daniel W. and Mary W. (Burkhart) Martin. She was the wife of Norman S. Martin, who preceded her on Jan. 31, 2011. She was a member of Stauffer's Old Order Mennonite Church, Port Trevorton.
Annie is survived by her 11 children, Daniel and Anita Martin, of Tennessee, Ella Martin and Mary Martin, both of Selinsgrove, Isaac and Lori Martin, of McClure, Eva Soder, of Port Trevorton, Susie and Michael Coltharp and Alice VanRyan, all of Mississippi, Weaver and Lori Martin, of Selinsgrove, Anna and Glenn Weaver, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Reuben Martin and Rebecca and John Margel, all of Selinsgrove; 21 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Anna Martin, of Selinsgrove, and Henry and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Martin, of Lancaster; and one sister, Katie Martin, of Lancaster.

McCLURE - Arlene Weaver Martin, 64, of 219 Smoky Knoll Lane, entered into rest at 11:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 07, 2013, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1948, in East Earl Township, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Harry B. and Emma G. (Weaver) Nolt. On March 14, 1968, in Churchville, she married Ivan M. Martin, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by eight children and their spouses, Calvin N. and Rosanna Martin, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Paul I. and Kathryn Martin, of Millmont, Lori Apple, of Port Royal, Darla and Marlin Weaver, of McClure, Eileen and Jason Reinford, of Bennington, Vt., Julie Martin, of McClure, Lloyd and Marie Martin, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Sara and Noah Weaver, of Denver, Pa.; 22 grandchildren, seven siblings, Vera Shirk, of East Earl, Mary Leinbach, of Todd County, Ky., Alta Hoover, of East Earl, Marian Martin, of East Earl, Amos Nolt, of Lewisburg, Lloyd Nolt, of East Earl, and Lester Nolt, of Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella Martin and Edna Weaver, and two brothers as toddlers.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Hoover, and four brothers: Ivan, Phares, Christ and John, an infant.
His funeral will be held on Monday, March 25, at his late home at 9 a.m. with further services at 9:45 a.m. at the Reidenbach Mennonite Church with Bishop Noah G. Martin officiating. He was a dedicated family man and a loving husband and father. He was our biggest cheerleader and encourager. Dean loved to make us laugh. Dean loved to make breakfast every Saturday morning for his family.
Dean loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish with his children. While enjoying nature, he also became an avid photographer. He was a football and baseball fan, but he especially loved to watch his son play baseball. He was a coach for Little League.
He attended Petra Christian Fellowship for many years. He served the people there through Men's Ministry, Men's Fraternity and ushering. He was a friend, inspiration and encourager to many. He loved to interact with people and had a way of including people wherever he went.
Dean worked for Meadow Valley Electric, Inc., for over 20 years. He was a dedicated, hard worker.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Lucinda (Zook) Martin, and 3 children, Jasmine, Kyle and Sierra. In addition, he is survived by his parents, Leroy and Beulah (Rutt) Martin; his sister, Yvonne (Martin) Haller, wife of Kevin Haller, their 3 children, Brock, Bridget, Bronson; his brother, Neil Martin, husband of Lisa (Petersheim) Martin and their 4 children, Brianna, Brendon, Brooke and Brett; his parents-in-love, Ed and Ruth Zook; brother-in-law, Lewis Zook husband of Doris (Hess) Zook, their 3 children, Joshua, Talea and Brianna; sister-in-law, Lisa Fellenbaum, wife of Brian Fellenbaum, their 2 children, Shianne and Brooke; brother- in-law, Loren Zook, husband of Amy (Graber) Zook, their 5 children, Corey, Tessa, Emma, Tyler and Jaxson.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Petra Christian Fellowship, 565 Airport Road, New Holland. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Ken Reinford and -Pastor Lester Zimmerman officiating.

Martin, Dorothy Troyer, died December 17, 2013 at Pleasant View Home in Kalona, IA. Born in 1915, she lived through the great depression of the 30's and was married to William E. Martin on November 25, 1934 near the end of hard times. As the youngest of 9 children, and fatherless at the age of 5, she learned to depend on her older brothers and sisters. She and her brother Raymond entertained themselves, as well as others, by playing the guitar, harmonica and singing. Her grandchildren loved to hear her play the guitar and harmonica at the same time. She was a faithful member of the Wellman Mennonite Church, and never knew a stranger.
Dorothy was a mother to 5, grandmother to 12, great grandmother to 26, and a great-great grandmother to 1. Her family includes her children; Bernita Boyts (Harold) of Hesston, KS; Carol Bontrager (Ray) of Hutchinson, KS; Gary Martin (Mary) of Newton; Cheryl Martin-Miller (Wendell) of Iowa City; grandchildren; Michelle Boyts, Mike Boyts, Eric Boyts, LuCinda Schooks, Robert Bontrager, Kristin Morris, Denise Downing, Debra Moore, Jeff Martin, Aaron Martin, M Jeremy Ours, Joel Ours; 26 great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, a son Larry, two sisters Barbara Yoder and Alma Troyer; and six brothers Chris, Ezra, Raymon, Willis, Orval and Charles.
Funeral Services were December 20, 2013 at the Wellman Mennonite Church. Pastor Nathan Ramer and Pastor Don Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery in Wellman.

Born Sunday, Aug. 25, 1918, in Cearfoss, Md., he was the son of the late Stanley H. Martin and the late Leah M. (Baer) Martin.

He was a lifelong farmer. After retiring from farming, he worked as an electrician for many years.
He was a member of Reiff Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his son, Landis E. Martin and wife, Delores, of Waynesboro; sisters, Anna Mary Martin and Martha B. Martin, both of Reid, Md.; brother, Grant B. Martin of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Seth B. Martin; and one grandson.
Services will be Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Reiff Mennonite Church, 17433 Reiff Church Road, Hagerstown, Md., with the church ministry officiating. Interment will be in Reiff Mennonite Church Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Paradise Mennonite Church, Paradise Church Road, Hagerstown, and Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Reiff Mennonite Church.

Born in East Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Catherine (Erb) Sauder. Her husband, Leroy A. Martin, died Feb. 3, 1995.
Edith was a homemaker and a member of Lichty's Mennonite Church where she served as treasurer of the Sewing Circle for a time. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, and housekeeping.
Surviving are six children, Doris M., married to Joe Ferri of Bradenton, FL, L. Donald, married to Carolyn (Ziemer) Martin of East Earl, Darwin L., married to Fern (Ludwig) Martin of Ephrata, Darrell E., married to Anna Frances (Martin) Martin of Mohnton, Dale L., married to Ginger (Good) Martin of Denver, and Dwight J. Martin of Reams-town; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Weaver of Ephrata.
Preceding her in death are two granddaughters, Lisa Martin and Jaimee Martin, seven brothers and five sisters.
At Edith's request, a -private interment will be at the Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. She was born in East Earl to the late Jacob and Luella (Griffith) Wise and was the wife of the late Rev. J. Paul Martin who passed away in 2011.
Esther was a member of the Palmyra United Zion Church. A pastor's wife, she enjoyed antiquing and collecting and ran an antique shop from her residence for several years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting Florida in the winter months.

She was born in Bowmansville to the late Aaron W. and Hannah (Good) Wise. What a wonderful reunion she must have had, as she met Jesus and her dear husband, Wayne G. Martin, who went to his heavenly home in July 2009.
She was a member of the Ephrata United Zion Church. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked in several sewing factories throughout her lifetime. She will be lovingly remembered by her family for the kindness she showed to all she came in contact with. Her grandchildren will remember her "yellow noodles, little pickles and good pierogies." She was a great cook and loved to bless her family with her good food. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman, and her children rise up and call her blessed. Great is her reward.

GOSHEN - James S. Martin, 26, of Goshen, died at 2:45 p.m. Thanksgiving Day Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He died unexpectedly and was one of God's special children.
He was born Sept. 6, 1987, in Elkhart County, the son of Andrew and Arlene Martin.
Survivors are his siblings, Esther, Steven (Wanita) Martin and Morris Martin, all of Goshen, and Barbara (Matthew) Zimmerman of Nappanee. Also surviving are eight nieces and nephews, and grandparents Raymond and Barbara Schrock and Marietta Martin.
He was preceded in death by one nephew and his grandfather, Elmer Martin.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 2013, at the family home, 25652 SR 119-B2. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Old Order Mennonite Church. Home ministry will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery.

Bob graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School in 1952. He served his alternate service at the Connecticut Valley Hospital, where he met his wife, Vera P., on a blind date. In June they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Bob started a trucking business, Bow Way Express, which is now being run by his daughter, Darlyne.

For the past 28 years, Scott was a self-employed businessman. He was a founder, partner and owner of Realty One and owner of Martin Motorcars. Scott received his Associates degree in Auto Technology from Williamsport Area Community College. While there, he was president of Alpha Omega. He graduated from Lancaster County Real Estate Institute and received his ABR and GRI as a realtor. He was a member of LCAR since 1985. He was a Lancaster County Republican committeeman since 1996.
Scott was a member of DOVE Westgate Church where he was a youth advisor from 1985-1995, Jr. High youth advisor 1995-2002. Above all, Scott was a follower of Jesus. He was a loving and protective father and husband. He was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and cars.

Lydia (Kalous) Martin, 85, of Ladysmith, passed away, in the care of her husband Jacob, daughter and son-in-law Sally and Doug Wenger, and nurse Connie on Dec. 18, 2013, at Ladysmith Living Center, due to complications from a stroke following a seven-year illness.

Lydia was born on Sept. 17, 1928 in Phillips, the daughter of Charles and Marie (Vacek) Kalous. At the age of 17, she along with her mother received Christ as their Savior at a revival meeting at the South Lawrence Mennonite Church. They were baptized Dec. 8, 1946. After marriage to Jacob Daniel Martin on June 27, 1950, she was a faithful member at the Sheldon Mennonite Church.
Jacob said, "She was the best wife to me and mother to our children that I could have ever wanted."
Lydia had a strong faith in her Lord till her dying day. She never wavered from the Bible truths that she believed. It was her continual prayer for her children and grandchildren to carry on the faith.
Lydia enjoyed church sewing circle, making quilts, embroidery work, cleaning houses and having a friendship with the ladies she cleaned for. She wrote letters faithfully to her children and friends on Sunday afternoon.
On the farm, she would pick rocks, milk cows, bale hay, tend flowerbeds and mow the lawn. She also enjoyed singing hymns.
Lydia is survived by her husband Jacob Daniel Martin; her daughters Nancy (Donnie) Overholt of Aroda, Va., Priscilla (Loren) Martin, Goshen, Ind., Nettie (Steve) Graber of Hillsboro, Sally (Doug) Wenger of Wakarusa, Ind., Margret (Richard) Schrock of Blackville, S.C., and Retha (Mark) Helmuth of Harrisonburg, Va.; her sons Willard (Judy) Martin of Goshen, Ind., Kenny Martin of Goshen, Ind., and Oliver Martin Marshfield; 36 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Marie (Vacek) Kalous; her brothers Jerry and Charles Kalous; her sisters Mary Kaiser, Helen Keepers, Ann Domin and Martha Manglos; and her grandson Jaran William Martin (stillborn).
A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 23, at Sheldon Mennonite Church, with Ted Miller, Lewis Martin and Vernon Martin officiating.
Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Weber) Shirk. Her husband, Noah W. Martin, died July 10, 1995.
Mabel was a homemaker most of her life but from 1981-2007 she worked as a sales clerk at the former Hayloft Fabric in Morgantown. She was a member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, and she enjoyed bowling, drawing, quilting, and playing games. She also enjoyed getting together at her home with her family every Sunday evening.
Surviving are seven children, Earl, married to Margaret (Zimmerman) Martin of Goodville, Marian, married to Dale Martin of Ephrata, Glenn, married to Carolyn (Shirk) Martin of New Holland, James S., married to Beverly (Good) Martin of Ephrata, Mervin, married to Glenda (Horst) Martin of Bowmansville, Shirley, married to Glenn Zimmerman of Stevens, and Roy L., married to Susan (Buohl) Martin of Ephrata; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Eva Nolt of Lititz; and a brother, Frank Shirk of Ephrata.
Preceding her in death is a son, Michael L. Martin, and 16 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl with the Reverend Larry Weber, the Bishop Carl Sensenig, and the Reverend Duane Ringler officiating. GOSHEN - Melba F. Martin, 73, of Goshen, died in her residence Monday, Aug. 5, 2013.
She was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Harrison Township, Elkhart County, to Oscar R. and Bessie (Hoover) Weaver. She married Willard "Dick" Martin on Dec. 15, 1962, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. He died Dec. 11, 2009.
Surviving are sisters Deloris (Wilbur) Babcock of Fort Collins, Colo., Leona (Marvin) Schmucker of Wichita, Kan., and Judy (Kenneth) King of Hutchinson, Kan.; and brothers Truman (Elnora) Weaver and Rodney (Pat) Weaver, both of Goshen, and Owen (Pat) Weaver of Elkhart.
Preceding her in death were her husband and parents.
Melba worked in office administration at Mennonite Board of Missions, Elkhart, retiring after 26 years. She was a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen, the Lay Diabetic Society and the Cooperative Extension Homemakers Club, and was active in crafts and the Women's Fellowship and Bridge Builders Sunday School Class at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church, 1900 S. Main St., Goshen, where a service will follow at 4:30 p.m. Pastor Pamela Yoder and Pastor Phil Waite of College Mennonite Church will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery at a later date.

MILLMONT - Nathan Z. Martin, 56, of 1050 Millmont Road, entered into rest at 3:37 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1956, in West Earl Township, Lancaster County, a son of Mary N. (Zimmerman) Martin, of Hartleton, and the late Daniel H. Martin. On Nov. 30, 1978, in Lancaster, he married the former Mary Ella Zimmerman, who survives.
Nathan was engaged in farming in western Union County.

Rachel worked as a typist for some local publications and she volunteered at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center and at the Center for Health at -Garden Spot Village.
She was a member at the Cocalico Christian Brotherhood. She was in a wheelchair since five years old due to Polio.

GOSHEN - Romaine E. Weaver Martin, 104, died peacefully Tuesday morning, Dec. 24, 2013, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
She was born June 22, 1909, in Goshen to Charles E. and Fannie (Cripe) Brumbaugh.
On Feb. 15, 1936, she married Harley C. Weaver in Goshen. He died Oct. 22, 1980.
She married Raymond Martin on May 6, 1995, in Nappanee. He died Dec. 7, 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances (Ray) Landis of Goshen; a stepdaughter, Betty (Don) Fervida, and stepson Dennis (Sherry) Martin, both of Nappanee; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 18 great-step-grandchildren; and seven great-great-step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Brumbaugh, in 1940.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Martin was a 1928 graduate of Goshen High School and a member at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. She worked at the Chase Bag Company during the depression and also had a retail stand at the Elkhart Farmer's Market from 1940 through the mid-1980s. Romaine and her first husband Harley were longtime dairy farmers south of Wakarusa.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, 63846 C.R. 35, Goshen. A private graveside service will be prior to the 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, memorial service at the church. The Rev. Terry Diener and the Rev. Matt Yoder will officiate.

On May 6, 1995 at Nappanee, IN she was married to Raymond Martin, who died December 7, 2001. Her first marriage was February 15, 1936 to Harley C. Weaver in Goshen. He died October 22, 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Frances (Ray) Landis, and step children, Betty (Don) Fervida, and Dennis (Sherry) Martin, three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, five, great-grandchildren, 18 step-great grandchildren, and seven step-great-great grandchildren.
A brother, Floyd Brumbaugh preceded her in death.
She had a retail stand at the Elkhart Farmer's Market from 1940 through the mid 1980's.
Memorial services were held December 24, 2013 at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with burial in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen, IN.

NAPPANEE - Roy B. Martin, 72, of Nappanee, died at 3:01 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1941, in Nappanee, to Ezra and Lydia (Bauman) Martin.
He married Rhoda (Hoover) Martin on Aug. 25, 1963.
Surviving are five children, Franklin (Norma) Martin of Nappanee, Brent (Glenda) Martin of Goshen, Timothy (Cheryl) Martin of Osceola, Pamela (Wesley) Zimmerman of Goshen and Kendall (Stacy) Martin of Rochester; three sisters Doris (Lowell) Weaver of Goshen, Mabel (Dale) Martin of Goshen and Nila (Lloyd) Martin of Nappanee; five brothers Lowell (Mary Alice) Martin of Nappanee, Clare (Rosetta) Martin of Goshen, Carl (Amanda) Martin of Goshen, Robert (Elise) Martin of Snover, Mich., and Dean (Marceil) Martin of Nappanee; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Roy was predeceased by his parents; an infant sister, Erma Martin; sister Lorene Ramer; and brother Leonard Martin.
He was a farmer and a milk hauler. Roy was a member of Cornerstone Mennonite Church, Nappanee.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2013, and will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, all at RMYC, C.R. 44, Nappanee - between C.R. 11 and C.R. 13. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at RMYC. Delton Weaver and the home ministry will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery.

Rufus was a member of the Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. During his working years, he was a farmer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Ivan R., husband of Katie W. (Zimmerman) Martin of Ephrata, Rufus R. Jr., husband of Anna Mary (Brubacher) Martin of Ephrata; a daughter, Anna R., wife of David S. Weaver of New Holland; 2 daughters-in- law, Lena W. Martin of Ephrata, Mabel H. Martin of Ephrata; 25 grandchildren; 89 great grandchildren; a brother, Elam, husband of Lillian (Redcay) Martin of Ephrata.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, John R. Martin, Aaron R. Martin; a daughter, Martha R. Martin; 5 brothers, Eli, Joe, Adam, Aaron and David Martin; 3 sisters, Anna Martin, Mary Martin and Emma Oberholtzer.

Rufus S. Martin, 80, Nappanee, IN, 14th child of 17, was born to Joseph E. and Mary (Shaum) Martin on August 14, 1933 near Wakarusa, Elkhart County, Indiana. In July 2013 he found out the prostate cancer from 21 years ago had returned. He died Tuesday evening at 5:25, October 8, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, IN, where he had been cared for since September 20, 2013.
Rufus grew up on the family farm, attended the one-room school at Morningstar, and furthered his education with high school correspondence, and one term at Goshen College. As a conscientious objector he served two years in Voluntary Service under Mennonite Central Committee at Eureka, Illinois at what is now called Maple Lawn Homes, a senior care facility. He was a farmer, construction superintendent, owned his own construction company and after retirement delivered mobile homes throughout the US and Canada until December 2012.
He was active within his church family, Yellow Creek Mennonite Church for over 56 years, where he served as Sunday School teacher, elder and Stephen's Minister. During this time he also served as assistant pastor of Wildwood Mennonite Church, Engadine, Michigan for one year and helped with a church plant, Community Mennonite Church, South Bend, Indiana for twelve years.
On September 26, 1954, in Harrison Township, Elkhart County, Indiana, he was married to Thelma Lucile Hoover, daughter of George E. and Kathryn (Schmucker) Hoover. Together they had six children: Tina Dawn Weldy (Marge Farr), Goshen, IN; Kent Jay Martin (Lita Horst), Kalamazoo, MI; Evan Ross Martin (Jennifer Konecny), Osceola, IN; Gail Renita Blum (Peter Blum), Hillsdale, MI; Craig Ruskin Martin (Laura Iverson), Brookings, SD; and Roma Jo Miller (Brent Miller), Goshen, IN; all of whom survive.
He took great joy in his family that includes 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren: Heidi (Weldy) & Steve Yeung, with Samuel and Liliana Yeung, Streamwood, IL: Kristen (Weldy) & Jeff Wills, Round Lake, IL; Braden Weldy & Krystal (Kalb) with Declan Weldy, Granger, IN; Mackenzie (Martin) & Greg Snader, Lancaster, PA; Aaron Martin, Holland, MI; and Avery Martin, Grand Rapids, MI; Austin Martin, New Orleans, LA;, Nicholas Martin, Mishawaka, IN; Emily Martin, Avon, CO; and Carley Martin, Osceola, IN; Abigail (Blum) & Colin Sudds, Hillsdale, MI: and Elaine Blum, Lafayette, IN; Amanda & Jessica Martin, Brookings, SD; and Kelsie (Miller) & Adam Friesen Miller, Goshen, IN and Joseph Miller, Johnstown, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Daniel Martin, and Jason Martin; seven sisters and brothers-in-law: Barbara (Sidney) Brubacher, Susie (Mervin) Ramer, Ida (Ira) Ramer, Emma (Nathan) Ramer, Bertha (Irvin) Martin, Grace (Ben) Shirk, and Ruth (Harvey) Brubaker; and two brothers-in-law, Clayton Brubaker and Leonard Martin.
Rufus requested that he have a simple burial as soon as possible following his death. The family burial service was held Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Yellow Creek Brick Cemetery, Harrison Township, Elkhart County, Indiana.
Family visitation will be at the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 PM. A Remembrance of Life service will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00AM at the same place. The church is located at the corner of Elkhart County Roads 38 & 11.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care he received at Miller's Merry Manor, and for the support and concern shown by Yellow Creek Mennonite pastors and friends.
In recognition of Rufus's love for children we suggest that any memorial contributions be given to Yellow Creek Day Care.

Samuel was a truck driver for Gro-Mor Plant Food Company, Leola. Earlier in life, he owned and operated a trucking business. He was a member of Mount Hope Mennonite Church, Manheim. He loved to spend time with his family and he was a foster parent to forty-one children.

TOPEKA - Sandra L. Martin, 68, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at IU Health Goshen Hospital after a year and a half battle with leukemia.
She was born May 16, 1945, in Monahans, Texas, to Charles Sr. and Betty J. (Carroll) Glass.
She married Dallas L. Martin on July 11, 1970.
He survives along with daughters Sharon (Keith) Shiltz of LaGrange and Christina (Peter) Carpenter of Goshen; son Kenneth (Tina) Martin of LaGrange; grandchildren Nicole and Ashley Miller, Clark and Conner Carpenter and Audrianna and Derrick Martin; and brother Charles W. (Nancy) Glass Jr. of Jamestown, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Monroe Junior Martin.
She was an active member of Maple Grove Church, Topeka.

Sheldon Wade Martin, 31, died Nov. 17, 2013, in a canoeing accident at Cheney Reservoir. He was born May 12, 1982, in Ephrata, Pa., the oldest son of Grant and Judy Martin.
He married Louisa Carol Schmucker on July 24, 2010, in Yoder, Kan.
Sheldon was a member of Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church and worked at Sanford's ComputerWorks and Martin Window Washing. He followed Jesus and devoted his life to service. He had a warrior's heart and was known for his kindness to his wife and all the children who admired him.
He is survived by his wife, Louisa Carol (Schmucker) Martin of Hutchinson; parents, Grant and Judy Martin of Newville, Pa.; brothers, Randal and wife Judy and son Michael of Clarkrange, Tenn., Anthony and wife Amy of Shippensburg, Pa., Adrian and wife Angela of Shippensburg, Pa.; and sister, Sheila of Newville, Pa.
The service to celebrate his life and worship Jesus will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church, 7213 W. Martin, Shirley B. Weaver, 68, of New Holland, PA died October 31, 2013, at her residence. She was born 1944 in Martindale to the late Paul and Mary (Brendle) Weaver and was the wife of Edward N. Martin. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church.

CENTERVILLE - Susan Irene Martin, 42, resident of 36529 Tryonville Road, Centerville, died Friday, March 1, 2013, in a traffic accident. Susan was accompanied in death by a son, Melvin Dale, age 3 years and 7 months. He was born on July 28, 2009, in Greenville.
Born in Columbiana, Ohio, on Sept. 6, 1970, Susan was the daughter of Clarence and Edith Steiner Horst of Mousie, Ky. On Sept. 6, 1991, she married Wesley Ray Martin, and he survives.
She accepted Christ as her saviour and was baptized in her youth. She was a faithful member of Blooming Valley Mennonite Fellowship at the time of her death.

TOPEKA - Dennis H. Mast, 33, died at 2:03 a.m. Sunday, July 14, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born Dec. 6, 1979, in LaGrange County to Henry S. and Frieda Mae (Miller) Mast. On May 23, 2001, in LaGrange County, he married Dora Kay Bontrager. She survives.
Six daughters, Duanita, Kaitlyn, Amy, Alaina, Rhoda and Krissa Mast; father and stepmother Henry S. and Ella Mast of LaGrange; grandfather Harley Miller of Shipshewana; and siblings Sara (Elmer) Beechy, Arlene (Orva) Eash and Leona, Leland (Norma) and Calvin (Fannie) Mast, all of LaGrange, Loretta (Samuel) Schrock of Topeka, Ernest (Leona) Mast of Shipshewana and Norman (Nettie) Mast of Wolcottville survive.
His grandparents and a grandmother preceded him in death.
He worked at Forest River, Coachman in Middlebury and was a member of Old Order Amish Church.

GOSHEN - Earl E. Mast, 79, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday, April 29, at home after living with Lou Gehrig's disease.
He was born April 18, 1934, in Elkhart County to Eli and Lydia Ann (Stutzman) Mast. On April 5, 1956, in Kosciusko County he married Fannie Mae Yoder.
She survives along with children Janine (Ronnie) Berkheiser of Woodland, Anna Marie (Ron) Griffith of Union City, Ohio, Dennis (Martha) Mast of Goshen and Joe Allen (Jill) Mast of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters Anna Mae (Perry) Yoder and Barbara (Edwin) Yoder, both of Nappanee, and Lydia McDonald of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Frieda Miller and Mary Ann Gillespie.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. GOSHEN - Ellis Dale Mast, 73, passed away Friday morning, June 28, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital after suffering a heart attack on June 22.
He was born Feb. 14, 1940, in Holmes County, Ohio, to Paul and Beulah (Miller) Mast.
He married Ann Smucker June 19, 1965, in West Liberty, Ohio.
She survives along with two daughters, Michele (Mike) Stutzman of Sarasota, Fla., and Angela (Joel) Miller of Middlebury; five grandchildren, Bryce, Dustin and Mariah Miller and Jackson and Jessica Stutzman; and two sisters, Carolyn (Harold) Schultz of Kansas City, Mo., and Julia (Colin) Mishler of Berlin, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John.
A 1962 graduate of Goshen College, Mr. Mast taught at Adriel School, West Liberty, for a couple of years. He taught physical education in the Westview School Corporation from 1965 until retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church and was very involved with Amigo Centre, serving on their board and helping with fundraising. He was also a longtime member of Maplecrest Country Club.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, C.R. 35, Goshen.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m., Monday, July 1, at the church. Pastors Terry Diener and Danny Yoder will officiate.
A private family burial will precede the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Amigo Centre Scholarship Fund for St. Joe Week or to the Brotherhood Fund at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.

Mast, Ellis, 73, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died June 28, 2013 at Elkhart, Elkhart Co., IN after having suffered a heart attack on June 22, 2013. He was born February 14, 1940 in Holmes County, OH to Paul and Beulah (Miller) Mast. On June 19 1965 at West Liberty, OH he was married to Ann Smucker, who was born October 9, 1943 and survives.
Surviving are children, Michele (Mike) Sutzman, and Angela (Joel) Miller; and five grandchildren.
A brother, John Mast preceded him in death.
Ellis taught physical education in the Westview School Corporation from 1965 until retiring in 1999. He served on the Amigo Centre board and helped with fundraising.
Memorial services were held July 1, 2013 at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

NAPPANEE - John E. Mast, 85, of Nappanee, passed away peacefully at Elkhart General Hospital of a brain hemorrhage at 11:15 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013.
Born June 27, 1927, in Thomas, Okla., he was the son of Eli J. and Anna (Yutzy) Mast.
On Jan. 11, 1951, John and Sarah (Hochstetler) were married. To this union were born: Steven Ray, deceased; Barbara Ellen (Dan) Yoder of Ireland; Ruth Ann (John) Yoder of Bluffton; Irma Jean (Paul) Miller of Newcomerstown, Ohio; Susan Kay (Delbert) Schlabach of Ripley, Ohio; and Thomas Allen (Linda) Mast of Nappanee. Sarah died on May 11, 1967.
On March 31, 1968, John married Mabel Burkholder. Their daughter, Carolyn (Daniel) Bontrager of Shipshewana, survives. Mabel died on Dec. 25, 1991.
On Jan. 9, 1993, John married Barbara L. Burkholder. Their children, Steven (Marilyn) Burkholder of Nappanee; Gary (Lillian) Burkholder of Rochester; and Phyllis Burkholder of, Goshen survive.
John was the retired owner of John Mast Construction, assistant pastor of Maple Lawn Church and a missionary at El Salvador orphanage, where he was called "Papi Juan" by orphans and many others.
John was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; three sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; brother Joe E. (Ella) Mast of Chouteau, Okla.; sisters Fannie (Chris) Miller and Mary (Merle) Overholt of Sarasota, Fla.; 39 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, all at Maple Lawn Church, 29267 C.R. 52, Nappanee. The funeral will be at Maple Lawn Church, Nappanee, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, with Paul E. Yoder and Daniel Bontrager officiating. Interment will be in Maple Lawn Church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to CICS (deaf school) El Salvador, Central America.

She was born Oct. 6, 1929, in Lagrange County to the late Chris L. and Alma (Eash) Miller. On Nov. 2, 1950, in LaGrange County she married Henry E. Mast.
Survivors include her husband; children Carolyn (Christy) Miller of LaGrange and Elroy (Cheryl), Cletus (Carol "Boom") and Elson (Toy LeAnn) Mast; son-in-law Dan Beechy; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and siblings Mary Miller and Cletus (Mary) Miller, both of Middlebury, Wilma (Floyd) Bontrager, Ruby (Jerry) Miller of Shipshewana, Katie Miller of Nappanee and Elvon (Louida) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leah F. Beechy; and siblings LeAnna, Ida and Perry Miller.
She was a homemaker and a member of Old Order Amish Church.

Herbert R. Maust, 84, Goshen, died 3 p.m. Mon. Jan. 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 18, 1928 in Goshen to Douglas & Amanda (Martin) Maust. He married Rosemary (Slabaugh) Maust on Oct. 23, 1949 at North Main Mennonite Church, Nappanee.
Surviving are his wife, Rosemary, children, Ronda (Steve) Chupp, Goshen, Rick (Tammy) Maust, Wakarusa, Becky (Dave) Schwartzentruber, Goshen, Rene (Mafra) Maust, Goshen, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are sisters, Berniece Short, Arvilla Anglemyer and Anabel Hartman.
Herb was a 1946 graduate of Wakarusa High School and attended one year at Chicago Technical College. He was founder & owner of Wakarusa Farm Center for 40+ years, Wakarusa Fence Co. and in retirement worked at PolyVinyl Sales. He was 45+ year member of the Elkhart County 4-H Board, serving as president in 1980 and heavily involved in many activities and events including being the rodeo producer for 30+ years; volunteered for Switchboard Concern for 8 years. He attended Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church and formerly attended Yellow Creek Mennonite Church and was very active in church his whole life. In 2010, Herb received the Elkhart County Agricultural Society's "Uncle Elmer" award.

GOSHEN - Robert F. Maust, 84, died early Sunday morning, Dec. 8, 2013, at his daughter's home.
He was born Dec. 17, 1928, in Goshen, to Edward and Emma (Kauffman) Maust.
On Oct. 28, 1950, he married Carol L. Nisley in Goshen. She died Nov. 13, 2004.
Mr. Maust is survived by a daughter, Anita (Dale) Snyder of Goshen; three sons, Rodney (Martha) Maust of Indianapolis, Jerry Maust of Goshen and Brian (Ingrid) Maust of Lincoln, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lowell (Fern) Maust of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Tina Marie Maust; and a brother, Edward Maust.
A lifelong Goshen resident, Mr. Maust was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church and volunteered at The Depot. He enjoyed tinkering and always kept busy with many projects and hobbies while bringing smiles to many faces with his positive attitude and sense of humor. He retired in 1994 from Goshen Dairy Farm Products after 28 years. Previously, he worked at Goshen Manufacturing Company for 22 years, while farming his parent's farmstead and maintaining his father's "new" Ford tractor until his death.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen. There will be a prayer service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, followed by a graveside service in Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen, prior to the 11:30 a.m. memorial service at the church. She married Monroe Miller on July 28, 1961.

He was born Sept. 22, 1926, in LaGrange County to Jacob J.M. and Katie (Christner) Miller.
On Dec. 3, 1946, in LaGrange County, he married Anna Mae Beechy. She died on Aug. 18, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Homer Miller of Goshen and Freeman Miller of Millersburg; three daughters, Mary Miller of Oregon, Amanda Graber of Goshen and Sue Hershberger of Wolcottville; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brother Obie Miller of Middlebury; and sister Edna Miller of Middlebury.

She is survived by two sons, Peter W. (Marilyn Graber) Miller and Evan J. (Sara VonGunten) Miller, both of Goshen; sister-in-law Katherine Miller of Dubuque, Iowa; six grandchildren, Joseph C. (Allie Johnson) Miller, Meghan (Eric) Fox, Benjamin C. Miller, Leena A. Miller, Jacob C. Miller and Nora J. Miller; three great-grandchildren; and numerous stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her son, Carl S. Miller Jr.; and her sister, Doris Beller Dick.
Carol was a longtime member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen, where she taught Sunday school to middle schoolers for many years. She spent more than 25 years teaching public school before and after raising her family. In her retirement years she became an accomplished water color artist.
She was a consummate hostess, welcoming all to her home. She was well read, loved a good debate about politics or theology and actively cultivated relationships with persons of a wide range of views and backgrounds. Throughout her life she was a mentor to many young persons. She brought diverse people together and somehow managed to leave all involved feeling accepted and loved.
There will be a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at College Mennonite Church Koinonia Room. A 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, memorial service will be at the church, with the Rev. Phil Waite officiating. Cremation will take place.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be given in her name to College Mennonite Church Jubilee Fund, Pathways Retreat or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.

Miller, Carol Maxine Beller, 93, of Goshen, Elkhart County, Indiana died February 17, 2013 at the same place. She was born January 3, 1920 at Flanagan, Illinois to Peter William and Mattie (Stalter) Beller. On May 9, 1943 she was married to Carl Samuel Miller.
Surviving are two sons, Peter W. (Marilyn Graber); and Evan J (Sara VonGunten); six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Katherine Miller.
A son, Carl S. Miller, Jr., and a sister, Doris Beller Dick preceded her in death.

GOSHEN - Carolyn Marie (Burkholder) Miller, 78, of Goshen, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born in Orville, Ohio, to Ray and Laura (Moser) Burkholder on Dec. 18, 1934.
She married B.J. Miller in 1957.
Carolyn was a nurse at Goshen General Hospital, and subsequently at the office of Dr. Don Minter until her retirement. Early in her career, working for Dr. Willard Kraybill, she developed and taught the first prenatal classes in Goshen; this program was later adopted by the hospital. She was an active member of Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, Goshen, serving on numerous committees and as church librarian, song leader and Sunday school teacher. For many years, she attended Bible study fellowship and was a discussion leader. She was involved in Goshen Interfaith Hospitality Network, served as a board member of The Window, and was a long-time volunteer at Katie's Kitchen.
Carolyn was a good friend and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active and creative homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed music, gardening and nature, and artistic endeavors of all kinds.
Carolyn is survived by her spouse and four children: daughter Tammie (Daryl) Miller of Goshen; daughter Lynette (Dan) Bertsche of Chicago; son Brent (Roma) Miller of Goshen; and son Bryan (Gretchen) Miller of Middlebury. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Miller of Vancouver, Canada, Nicholas Miller of Goshen, Kelsie (Adam) Friesen-Miller of Goshen, Joey Miller of Johnstown, Pa., Mason Edlund of Greenwood, Lisle Bertsche of Minneapolis, Adrienne Bertsche of Chicago and Travis Miller of Middlebury.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Burkholder.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. followed by a memorial service Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., both will be at Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, 909 N. Sixth St., Goshen.

ELKHART - Clara Miller, 89, of Elkhart and formerly of Nappanee, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1923, to Benedict and Fannie (Miller) Mullet in Elkhart. She married Adlai S. Miller on Aug. 19, 1945. He died March 14, 2006.
Her children, Mattie (Everett) Dausman of Leesburg, Ann (Larry) Flora of Nappanee, Mary (Ken) Dorrier and Joe (Linda) Miller, both of Elkhart, and Ben (Deb) and Lamar (Nadine) Miller of Elkhart; siblings Henry (Katie) Mullet and Anna Miller, both of Nappanee, and Enos (Dorcas) Mullet of Lapel; sisters-in-law Mary Gingerich of Goshen and Katie Mullet of Etna Green; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild survive.
Her daughter, Ruby Kilmer, and siblings Steve, Roman, Albert and Isaac Mullet, Kate Sommers and Mose Gingerich preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Arthur (Ill.) Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the church. Burial will be in Arthur Cemetery, Arthur.

He was born Aug. 6, 1937, in Marshall County to Emery E. and Fanny (Chupp) Miller. He married Edna Kuhns on March 20, 1958.
Mr. Miller was a retired farmer and member of Old Order Amish Church.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1949, in Lagrange County to Ezra and Annie (Yoder) Miller. On May 2, 1968, in Middlebury, he married Ellen Graber.
She survives, as do children Steven (Inez) Miller of Middlebury and Norma (Marvin) Nisley of Goshen; seven grandchildren; siblings Alma (Calvin) Miller of Goshen and Levi Miller of Shipshewana; and sister-in-law, Esther (Wilbur) Bontrager of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Perry Miller.

He was born on May 3, 1930, in Elkhart County to Joseph J. and Amanda (Hershberger) Miller. On Dec. 15, 1955, he married Ida J. Slabaugh.
She survives with children Nora (Sam) Brandenberger of Wolcottville, Etta (Amos) Glick, Harlan (Ruby) Miller and Vernon (Luanne) Miller of Shipshewana, Wayne Lee Miller of Niles, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers Jake (Dorothy) Miller of White Pigeon, Mich., and Samuel Miller of Sheridan, Wyo.
He was predeceased by his son Kenneth and siblings Anna, Katie, Ida, Jonas and Joseph.
He was a carpenter and a member of Old Order Amish Church.

COLUMBIA, Ky. - Erma D. Miller, 2012 Dry Creek Road, was born Feb. 10, 1923, to Daniel B. and Mattie C. (Miller) Miller in LaGrange County, Ind. She departed this life on her 90th birthday, Feb. 10, 2013.
In her youth, she accepted Christ and was baptized upon her confession of faith. She was a member of Casey Amish Mennonite Church.
She married Simon D. Hershberger, son of David and Susie (Miller) Hershberger, on Oct. 7, 1948. To this union were born six sons and one daughter. Simon died Nov. 15, 1969.
Erma was married the second time to Alvin D. Miller April 2, 1977. He died Sept. 1, 1997.
She survived by her five sons, Dennis and SueAnn Hershberger, Nappanee, Ind., Ivan and Ruby Hershberger, Dorchester, Wis., Simon and Sue Hershberger, Wolcottville, Ind., Steven and Katie Hershberger, Brooksville, Ky., and James and Velma Hershberger, Greensburg, Ky.; daughter, LeAnna (Mrs. Dennis) Miller, Belleville, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Rhoda Hershberger, Liberty, Ky.; 42 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; stepson, Raymond Miller, Paris, Tenn.; four stepdaughters, Clara Miller, Paris, Tenn., Verna (Mrs. Norman A.) He was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Shipshewana, to Enos E. and Ida (Yoder) Miller. On Dec. 13, 1951, in Topeka he married Anna Bontrager. She died March 6, 2003.
Surviving are children Mary Alice (Vernon) Miller of Topeka, Marion (Clara) Miller of Howe, Cletus (Rosetta) Miller of Cave City, Ark., Glen Miller of Elkhart and Mervin (Katie Fern) Miller of Ligonier; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and siblings Ida Mae (Ervin) Bontrager, Alma Beechy, Amanda Miller, Anna (Mervin) Mast, Harley Miller and Jerry (Ruby) Miller.
He was predeceased by an infant son, infant daughter Ruby, a grandson, two infant great-grandchildren, a sister, a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be all day Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Mervin E. Miller residence, 11385 W. 800 S., Ligonier, where funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013. Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka.

TOPEKA - Gaylord L. Miller, 82, of Topeka, died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital, after an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Elkhart County to the late Ivan and Erma (Miller) Miller.

On June 23, 1936 at Accident, MD she was married to Paul N. Miller, who was born February 8, 1913 and died November 10, 2000.

GOSHEN - Harold C. Miller, 70, died early Monday morning, June 3, 2013, in his home.
He was born March 10, 1943, in Leo to Clyde and Bertha (Leichty) Miller.
He married Carol Moyer on June 13, 1970, in Harleysville, Pa.
She survives along with a daughter, Tara Worley of Elkhart; a son, Brad (Nicole) Miller of Elkhart; four grandchildren; a sister, Diane (Vernon) Heacock of Goshen; and three brothers, Forrest (Anne) Miller and Don (Sylvia) Miller, both of Goshen, and Clifford Miller of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Gerald, who died at birth.
Mr. Miller graduated from Leo High School in 1961, Eastern Mennonite University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1970 and Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary with a Master of Divinity.
A self-employed carpenter, he served as a pastor at Kingman Mennonite Church, Kansas, and later worked as a trim carpenter for Town and Country Builders until retiring.
A member of Maple City Chapel, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, getting together with family, studying the Bible and encouraging others in their faith.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Friday, June 7, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Miller, Maple City Chapel, and his brother, Pastor Cliff Miller, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Anna Miller, Fannie and Mattie Gingerich and Joe and Ezra Miller; and son-in-law Ervin J. Borntrager.
He was a charter member of Woodlawn Amish Mennonite Church, a woodworker and a retired carpenter.

MIDDLEBURY - Harvey L. Miller, 83, of Middlebury, died on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Dec. 17, 2013.
He was born Aug. 9, 1930, in Illinois to Levi and Carrie (Kauffman) Miller.
On Sept. 28, 1950, he married Ida Ellen Bender. She died April 24, 2005.

NAPPANEE - Judith Elaine Miller, age 56, of Nappanee, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, in Sarasota, Fla. She was born June 18, 1956, in Elkhart to Nelson and Mary (Yoder) Martin. She was a lifetime area resident. Judy graduated from Northwood High School and worked at Miller's Market for many years. She also worked at Everence/MMA in Goshen.
She was a member of Wakarusa Missionary Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, and traveling with her family. She was also a very competitive game player.
Judy married Devon L. Miller on May 27, 1978, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
He survives, along with daughters Kristy (Clint) Cripe of Nappanee and Kathy (Josh) Welker of Goshen; grandchildren Wyatt and Ella Cripe and Wesley Welker; her parents; brother Jeff (Amy) Martin of Goshen; and sisters, Patty (Albert) Bontrager of Wakarusa, Barb (Fred) Snyder of New Paris and Anita (Rich) Yoder of Greenwood.
Friends may visit the family from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Wakaursa Missionary Church, and for an hour prior to the 11 a.m. service Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, also at the church. Pastor Rob Dauber will lead the service. Burial will follow at Olive West Cemetery.

She married LeRoy E.G. Miller on Dec. 6, 1945. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1998.

ELKHART - Lela Grace Miller, 97, of Elkhart, left her earthly home for her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Aug. 22, 2013. She will be dearly missed by her family but will be welcomed home by her Lord and Savior to whom she was faithfully devoted.
She was a homemaker all of her life and taught Sunday school at Plato Mennonite Church. She worked in the cafeteria at Shipshewana Elementary School.
Mrs. Miller was born Oct. 7, 1915, in Benzonia, Mich., to Lewis and Fannie (Kauffman) Morningstar. On Sept. 23, 1936, in Topeka, she married Harold L. Miller. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1985.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol and Donald Troyer and Joyce and Phil Troyer, both of LaGrange, and Shirley Beach of Elkhart; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Jackie Miller of Elkhart and Dean and Lana Miller of Howe; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents; four sisters, Flossie King, Fern Hartlzer, Esther Oswald and Mabel Sharick; and eight brothers, Titus, Ora, Bill, Melvin, Clayton, Floyd, Jessie and Arthur Morningstar preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Emma Mennonite Church, 1900 S. 600 W., Topeka, with the Rev. Richard Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in Shore Cemetery in Shipshewana.

She was born May 29, 1923, in Nappanee to Moses J. and Maude E. (Hochstetler) Miller. She lived her lifetime in this area. On May 11, 1943, she married Homer D. Miller in Nappanee. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 2008.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and a faithful pastor's wife for many years. She was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church.
Surviving are daughters Katie (Glen) Bontrager of Wakarusa, Ina (Dale) Slabaugh of Nappanee, Sara (Joni) Schrock of Madison and Maria (Vernon) Bacher of West Minster, S.C.; a son, Lyle (Ada) Miller of Nappanee; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and brothers Olen (Katie) Miller of Hartwell, Ga., Herman (Anna Marie) Miller of Marshfield, Wis., John William (Jane) Miller of Bremen and Gilbert Lee (Mary Kathryn) Miller of Nappanee.

Miller, Lovina Mae Hochstetler, 87, of Goshen, IN died June 14, at Courtyard Of Goshen, IN. She was born on April 20, 1926, in Nappanee, to Eli J. and Sarah (Miller) Hochstetler. On January 24, 1946 she married Melvin Schwietert, he died August 23, 1989. On August 13, 2000 she married Chriss E. Miller, he died July 5, 2011. She was a member of Roselawn Mennonite Church.

She was a homemaker and a member of Old Order Amish Church.

COPLEY, Ohio - Miriam "Mim" Miller, 78, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Legacy Living LLC, Copley.
Miriam was born Dec. 6, 1934, in Elkhart County, Ind., to Ervin W. and Ruth Stealy Boyer, where she grew up and married Elmer D. Miller on Aug. 24, 1952, at Belmont Mennonite Church in Elkhart. The Millers lived in the Michiana area from 1955 to 1971.
Survivors include her brother, Stanley W. Boyer of Cross Plains, Wis.; daughter Marilyn A. Miller Henderson of Hagerstown, Md.; son Arthur W. Miller of Norton; daughter Sandra K Miller Meisinger of Winchester, Va.; daughter Lisa Miller of Hesston, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer D. Miller in 1996, and her parents.
Miriam retired from her role as church coordinator at Sunnyslope Mennonite Church, Phoenix, Ariz., in 2002. She was active in their ministry for homeless men, House of Refuge-Sunnyslope, as long as she was able.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Norton, at Calvary Chapel of Akron, 629 Wesleyan Ave., Barberton, Ohio.

LAGRANGE - Norma Jean Miller, 24, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Floyd Miller's home, after battling cancer for 11/2 years.
She was born Aug. 11, 1989, in LaGrange to Harley and Loretta (Miller) Yoder.
She was a homemaker and a member of Old Order Amish Church.
On April 15, 2010, in Ligonier she married LeRoy F. Miller.
Surviving are her husband; son Vernon Eugene Miller; parents Harley and Loretta Yoder; grandparents Mervin and Vera Miller and Dan and Susie Yoder; sisters Vera (Samuel) Beechy of LaGrange, Carolyn (Elmer) Bontrager of Millersburg and Edna and Mary Yoder; and brothers Vernon (Rose) Yoder of LaGrange and Glen, Delmar and Richard Yoder.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Wayne Miller, on Nov. 23, 2012; sister Doris Yoder on Feb. 6, 1995; and brother Devon Yoder on Feb. 6, 1995.

SHIPSHEWANA - Ruth Miller, 59, died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 6, 1954, in LaGrange County to the late Harvey V. and Clara (Miller) Lambright. On May 10, 1973, in Elkhart County, she married Lloyd E. Miller. He died May 23, 1992. On June 29, 1996, in LaGrange County, she married Nelson Lee Miller.
Her husband; daughter Joann (David Lee) Schlabach; grandchildren Kevin Nelson, Kassandra Jane and Krissia Jean Schlabach; and siblings Floyd (Gloria), Homer (Fannie), Glen (Annie) and John (Irma) Lambright, Sara Etta (Sam) Brandenberger and Betty (Sam) Schwartz, both of Shipshewana, and Kathy (Wilber) Miller survive.
A daughter, Jane Renee Miller, and sister, Mary Edna Lambright, preceded her in death.

She was born March 3, 1923, in Yoder, Kan., to the late Shem and Betsy (Yoder) Yoder.
On Nov. 4, 1943, she married Noah A. Miller. He died Jan. 13, 2007.

He was born July 4, 1927 at Mantua, Ohio to John Peter and Elizabeth (Hostetler) Miller. John was born October 8, 1900 and Elizabeth was born February 15, 1902.
On October 28, 1951 at Harper, Harper Co., Kansas he was married to Helen Marie Hostetler, who was born February 13, 1930 and died October 20,2011.
Surviving are children, Robin (Cynthia Howell) Miller; Renita (David) Strange; Rosina (Craig) Berkey; Rochele (Nathan) Beachy; and Ryan (Lisa Bash) Miller; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Vernon D. Miller and Duane W. Miller.
A brother, Jay Wilbur Miller preceded him in death.
Vern was a founding pastor of Lee Heights Community Church, an interracial urban congregation in Cleveland, Ohio; a founding member of Lee Miles Ministerial Alliance, an interdenominational alliance of churches and ministers; developed the Lee Miles Hunger Center; was instrumental in building the Ministerial Alliance Retirement Center in Cleveland; and was a founding member of the Lee Miles Housing Corporation.
Memorial services were held August 12, 2013 at Lee Heights Community Church, Cleveland, Ohio with burial in Aurora Mennonite Cemetery, Aurora, Portage Co., Ohio.

A. John Moser of rural Bluffton, age 80, died on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Frieda House Mennonite Home Communities, Bluffton, Ohio. He was born June 16, 1933 in Bluffton to Ezra and Lena Boehr Moser who preceded him in death. On August 20, 1954 he married Mary Anne Bertsche and she survives.
John is survived by four children: David (Jenny) of Bluffton, Karen (Jon) Lee of Edmund, Oklahoma, Mark (Paula) of Lake City, Florida and Chris (Carmen) of Bluffton and grandchildren Rachael Lee, Bess Moser, Sara Moser, Jacob (Elyse) Moser, David Moser and Jonatan Moser.
John was a graduate of Pandora High School and Bluffton University. He had been a dairy farmer, health sanitarian and owner of Moser Dairy Service for 25 years.
He enjoyed sports, walking in the woods, woodworking especially making wooden puzzles, traveling and spending time with his family. He served his church teaching Sunday school and on the board. He also served on the boards of Mennonite Brotherhood Aid, Swiss Historical Society, Camp Friedenswald, Putnam County Farm Bureau, and Putnam County Board of Health.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday September 20 and 10:00 am - 10:45 am on Saturday 21 at First Mennonite Church 101 S. Jackson Street, Bluffton. Memorial services will be held on September 21 at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Pastors Steven Yoder and Louise Wideman officiating.

DALTON - Richard J. "Peaty" Moser, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2013, following a brief illness. He was born in Dalton on February 21, 1921 to Jack N. and Clara G. (Zaugg) Moser. A life resident of Dalton, he was a 1939 graduate of Dalton High School, and served with the U.S. Army during WWII as a member of the Signal Corps. He married Evelyn (Tschantz) Moser in 1941 in their first home that he built. Richard retired from Ohio Edison in 1983 after 37 years of service and later served as a consultant to Schantz Organ Company. He was a life-long member of the Dalton Presbyterian Church, a past member of the Dalton Rotary Club, and an avid genealogist where he volunteered for the Kidron Community Historical Society tracing local genealogy for many families. He was a square dance caller for the Gnat Boxers square dance group for many years. Richard had been an amateur radio enthusiast for the past 80 years with call letters W8XM, and was a member of the First Class Operators Club, a world-wide organization for ham radio operators based in the United Kingdom.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald; sister, Faye; granddaughter, Alexandria.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Evelyn; four children, Sandy (John) McIlvaine of Dalton, John (Kathy) Moser of Columbus, Nancy Moser of Dalton, Jim (Jeanne) Moser of East Kingston, NH; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Marion Moser of Springfield, VA; six nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Dalton Presbyterian Church, 163 W. Main St., Dalton 44618, with Rev. Eldon Trubee, officiating. Burial will take place at Dalton Cemetery with military honors. Friends and family may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, and one hour prior to service time at the church.

She was a life member of Doylestown Mennonite Church where she served as a former Sunday school teacher. Betty participated with her husband in the early development and operation of Spruce Lake Retreat under the Franconia Mennonite Camping Association for many years. Betty enjoyed vacationing in Sarasota, Florida.
Survived by her husband Paul and two sons, J. Phillip Moyer & wife, Betsy of Green Lane, PA, James A. Moyer & wife, Pamela of Doylestown, PA; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Sarah Chittick of Doylestown, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Ross; a brother, John Chittick and an infant sister.

On September 7, 1974 at Blooming Glen, Bucks Co., PA he was married to Nancy Rose Derstine, who was born May 23, 1951 and survives.

He served four years in Civilian Public Service Camps for Conscientious Objectors as an alternate to Military Service. He worked for 27 years for Mennonite Publishing House, 13 years as manager of Provident Bookstore in Souderton, Pa., and later as director of Provident bookstore division in Scottdale, Pa. In his retirement, he accepted an assignment with combine efforts of Mennonite Central Committee and Presbyterian Church of South Africa to work for Lovedale Press in the Republic of South Africa from 1986 to 1989.
Survived by wife Betty and children Kathleen Ann, married to Kenneth Birnbaum, Baltimore, Md.; Nicholas Mazucco Moyer, married to Beverly (Freyenberger), Kouts, Ind.; Linda Mazucco Moyer, Sellersville, Pa.; Mary Ruth, married to Randall Ziegler, Sellersville, Pa.; Jeanette Louise, married to William Hunsberger, Davidsville; Alice Marie, married to Scott Eldredge, Abington, Pa.; Eileen Kay, married to Michael Waidelich, Archbold, Ohio; and Dorothy Annette, married to Brad Leissa, Brookville, Md.; 35 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

He was a life member of Doylestown Mennonite Church where he formerly served as trustee, Sunday School teacher and Summer Bible School superintendent. Paul was a chorister who enjoyed hymns of the faith and singing in various choruses. He was a founding member of the Franconia Mennonite Camping Association and a former director of Spruce Lake Retreat in Canadensis, PA. Paul was active in the Mennonite Church, locally and nationally, serving on various boards and committees. He was a national 1-W coordinator and was involved with the introduction of the Franconia Ministerial Retirement Fund. He served in the Civilian Public Service in Hagerstown, MD and with the National Service Board for Religious Objectors in Washington D.C. during WWII.
Survived by his two sons, J. Phillip Moyer, M.D. & wife, Betsy, of Green Lane, PA, James Moyer & wife, Pamela of Doylestown, PA; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Mark Moyer & wife, Betty, of Davidsville, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Betty and a daughter, Rebecca Ross; a sister, Beatrice Detweiler, and three brothers, William, Walter & Galen Moyer.

He was born March 12, 1921, in Nappanee to Dan and Celesta (Hochstetler) Mullet. On Oct. 31, 1946, in LaGrange County, he married Barbara Yoder; she died Jan. 6, 2009.
Surviving are children Kay (Elmer) Kauffman and Ernest (Katie) Mullet, both of Shipshewana, and Loretta (Richard) Miller, Martha Ferne Mullet and Merle (Nora) Mullet of Middlebury; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; and siblings Lucy Ann Miller and Martha Miller, both of Middlefield, Ohio, and Amelia Byler, Saloma Mullet and William Mullet, all of Mercer, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; brothers Ruben, Jesse, Uri, Simon and Jerry Mullet; and sister Elva Glick.

ETNA GREEN - Isaac Mullet, 92, of Etna Green, died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, April, 20, 2013, at Ernest Kuhns' home.
He was born Jan. 22, 1921, in Elkhart County to the late Ben and Fannie (Miller) Mullet. He married Katie Irene Miller on Nov. 20, 1947, in Nappanee.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was ordained to the ministry on April 25, 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Mullet; siblings Clara Miller of Elkhart, Hank (Katie) Mullet of Nappanee and Enos (Dorcas) Mullet of Lapel; half-sister Anna (Joseph) Miller of Milford; and stepsister-in-law Mary Gingerich of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Steven, Amos, Roman, Albert and Jonas Mullet; sister Kate Sommers; stepbrother Mose Gingerich; and brother-in-law Adlai Miller.

SHIPSHEWANA - Kevin Wayne Mullet, 7 weeks, of Shipshewana, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He had been ill since birth with a heart condition.
He was born on April 30, 2013, in Topeka to David L. and Ruby (Weaver) Mullet.
Surviving in addition to his parents are three sisters, Jolene Ranae Mullet, Sharon Kay Mullet and Doris Marie Mullet, all at home; grandparents Vernon and Ruby Mullet and Ida Mae Weaver, all of LaGrange; and great-grandparents Mattie Mullet and Elmer and Katie Bontrager, all of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ida Elaine Mullet and Lisa Diane Mullet; and great-grandfather Ira Mullet.
Visitation will be all day Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the family's home, 4510 W. 450 N., Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday June 24, 2013, at David O. GOSHEN - Ruben Mullet, 89, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 3, 2013, Maples at Waterford Crossing. He had been ill the past year.
He was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Nappanee to Daniel D. and Celesta (Hochstetler) Mullet.
He married Emma Schrock, Feb. 12, 1955, in Elkhart. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Patricia (Michael) Merrick of Marietta, Ga.; three sons, Dana and Steven (Kerry) Mullet, both of Goshen, and James (Annette) Mullet of Westfield; six grandchildren, Tony, Greg, Jeff and Jason Merrick and Leslie and Alex Mullet; two stepgrandsons, Derek and Connor Cameron; four sisters, Lucyann Miller and Martha (Albert) Miller, both of Middlefield, Ohio, Amelia Byler of Stoneboro, Pa., and Soloma Mullet of Mercer, Pa.; and two brothers, Alvin Mullet of Shipshewana and William (Emma) Mullet of Mercer.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Jean Merrick; a sister, Elva Glick; and four brothers, Uri, Simon, Jerry and Jesse Mullet.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Mullet was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church.
He worked for NIBCO in the Elkhart foundry for 41 years before retiring in 1989.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, memorial service will be conducted at Pleasant View Mennonite Church. Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford will officiate.
A private family burial will precede the memorial service in Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen.

Born in Mt. Joy, he was the son of the late Reist R. and Ruth Eby Mummau. Ernie was a Graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School, Class of 1957. He was ordained Pastor of Nickel Mines Mennonite Church in 1978 and served there for over 30 years. Ernie touched many lives as he served in various aspects of ministry, most recently completing 10 years as an overseer within The Biblical Mennonite Alliance. He was a farmer, salesman for Herr's Potato Chips, and for 33 years, he was a dairy nutritionist and mineral salesman representing Standard Nutrition Company. He was known as an optimist and encourager who invested in the lives of his family and others. He also enjoyed biking with his wife and playing the piano.
In addition to his wife, he will be missed by his 3 children: Ronald L., husband of Beverly K. Harnish Mummau of Quarryville, Robin R., wife of Timothy T. Stauffer of Palmyra, Donna L., wife of Loren L. Mummau, Pastor Ernest E. age 73, of Quarryville, PA, died March 14, 2013 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center. Born in Mt. Joy, PA to Reist R. and Ruth Eby Mummau. He was the husband of Faye Hershey Mummau with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage in April of 2012.

Ruth was a graduate of Warwick High School and retired as a legal secretary from the law offices of McNees, Wallace and Nurick located in Harrisburg. She was a member of Slate Hill Mennonite Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, participated with the kitchen committee and served as a former Secretary for the church board. Ruth enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, embroidery and loved singing, especially for the holiday church services.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Eugene M. Musselman, two sons Douglas L. Musselman and his wife Laura of New Cumberland, Richard E. Born in Ephrata, on February 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ivan M. and Sadie N. Snyder Zeiset. Miriam worked in the family business as a secretary for Triple-M-Farms and Country Boy Mfg. in Lebanon. She was also a member of the Fairhaven Mennonite Church, Myerstown.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Samuel Ray, Glenn L., husband of Debra Musser and Stephen L. husband of Rachel Musser all of Lebanon; brother Ivan E. Zeiset of Ephrata; sister Edna Good of Denver; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother David Zeiset and sisters Emma Eby and Sadie Horst.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the Lebanon Valley Mennonite Church, 7821 Lancaster Ave., Myerstown. Viewing will be held on Saturday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Musser, Miriam S. Zeiset, 75, of Lebanon, PA died November 5, 2013, at the Mount Joy Hospice & Community Care, after a year long battle with cancer. Born in Ephrata, PA on February 18, 1938, to Ivan M. and Sadie N. Snyder Zeiset. She was the wife of Samuel G. Musser. In May they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
She was also a member of the Fairhaven Mennonite Church, Myerstown.
Survived by her husband, Samuel and sons Samuel Ray, Glenn L., husband of Debra Musser and Stephen L. husband of Rachel Musser all of Lebanon; brother Ivan E. Zeiset of Ephrata; sister Edna Good of Denver; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother David Zeiset and sisters Emma Eby and Sadie Horst.
Funeral service was November 10, 2013, at the Lebanon Valley Mennonite Church, Myerstown, PA. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Survived by: a daughter, Almeda J., wife of Mahlon Shenk, of Lititz; sons, Wilmer E., husband of Martha Myer, of Cocolamus, Donald L., husband of Blanche Myer, of Lancaster, and Dale E., husband of Glenna Sue Myer, of Aurora, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Hoover, of Lititz.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willard and a grandson, Greg Myer; a great-granddaughter; a great-grandson; a brother, A. Wilmer Esbenshade; and sisters, Ella Hostetter and Mabel Shertzer.
A memorial service was Sept. 30, 2013, at Stumptown Mennonite Church, Bird-in-Hand, PA.
